A Place to Call Home
Twelve families call Lindsey House home every night. Lindsey House is TLC’s first project. The building, located in downtown Tulsa, is a four-story vintage apartment building with 12 fully-furnished units. Thanks to our Apartment Sponsors, each Lindsey House apartment contains the basic household items a family needs to start their journey to self-sufficiency including dishes, cookware, linens, food, and much more.
TLC maintins 12 fully-furnished apartments in our downtown Lindsey House facility. Program Participants generally stay in the program from six to 18 months. They pay a monthly program fee that never exceeds $200 and they put at least 10% of their income into savings. Each one-bedroom apartment includes a kitchen and dining room, living room, and bathroom.
In addition to the apartments, Lindsey House offers our families a variety of resources including the Resource Center containing computers, library and meeting spaces, laundry, courtyard, and the Hardesty Family Foundation Child Enrichment Center. Off-street parking is provided behind our building and the facility is secured, preventing unauthorized entry. Lindsey House also houses the corporate offices of Transitional LIving Centers of Oklahoma.
Lindsey House provides a place to call home. Single parent families, headed by mothers, can stay at Lindsey House up to 18 months. The length of their stay is dependent up on their willingness to utilize our Supportive Services and “work the program.”
